TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

About Tarangire Park

Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant herds—it has some of the highest elephant concentrations in Tanzania, with herds of up to 300 individuals. It also stands out for its impressive baobab trees, which dot the landscape and add to the park's beauty. Wildlife and Landscape: In the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a vital water source for a variety of animals, including wildebeests, zebras, and buffaloes. Its permanent swamps also support waterbuck, giraffes, and lions. The park is a birder’s paradise, boasting more than 500 bird species, including the endemic Ashy Starling and Yellow-collared Lovebird.
